The Next Step

2011 is turning out to be quite a year, what with a short trip to NY, a massive trip to Trinidad, a fiance, and now the purchase of a house.

Needless to say, money is a bit tight, but how else can one truly move on to the next step without having to bite the bullet and just do it? In our case, we have to move - living in a one room apartment has obvious limitations, and while moving to a bigger apartment is an option, being in an apartment also has its restrictions.

The main issue for us was wanting to remain - in/close to - the city, and that of course comes with a price. That said, it was a price we were willing to pay as the location is where we want, and even though the house is a bit on the small side, it is still three times bigger than what we have been living in all this while. Sitting on a sizeable plot of land in a cul-de-sac, we couldn't have gotten better, and hopefully it will be our new happy place for years to come.

My darling fiance has been waiting a long time for this moment, and now that it has arrived, it is hard for her to actually believe that we are moving in 2 weeks. No turning back now. Apart from the move, the house does need some work, and the more we can do ourselves, the better. Have to save some money somewhere. The added bonus - at long last I will become a true handy man.
